Letter from the Organisers
The route of the “Argus” (now known as The Cape Town Cycle Tour) is one of the most beautiful in the world. So it’s not surprising that it is also the biggest bike race in the world. Taking part in that is the main reason behind this Epic Climbs trip to Cape Town and the Winelands region of South Africa knowsn as the Boland.
Simply put: every cyclist should experience the atmosphere and the glorious route around the Cape of Good Hope once in their life. Whether you choose to treat this trip to the South as a race or as a relaxed ride, it will be the highlight of a fantastic week’s cycling in South Africa.
Your ride will begin with the pulsating metropolis of Cape Town, onto the six-day Tour de Boland, which is planned and run by enthusiastic South Africans – Carinus and Nico.
Quealdich / Epic Climbs’ top man, Jan Sahner, will be there but will entrust you fully to our South African friends from the Tour de Boland, who are working hard to rival us for the title “Best Team in the World“!
We shall spend four of the nine nights in the centre of Cape Town. We are just a stone’s throw from bustling Long Street, while the start line for the Cape Town Cycle Tour is also within walking distance.
